Waste: all substances and objects which the holder discards or intends to discard or has the obligation to discard or remove under the provisions of this Act.
Hazardous waste: waste which the list is fixed by order according to their constituents and characteristics of pollutants they contain.
Producer: any person whose activities produce waste and any person who trades pre-processing, mixing or other operations resulting in a change in nature or in waste composition.
Distributor: importer or distributor of products and substances.
Holder: any person who is in possession of the waste.
Management: all activities relating to the collection, transport, treatment, recovery and disposal of waste, including merger control and monitoring of storage sites and disposal, landfills and recovery units.
Disposal: all operations for the final disposal of waste such as incineration operations, landfill and storage sites reserved or deposit in landfills, according to conditions that ensure the prevention of health risks rights and without the use of methods and means that may cause damage to the environment.
Valuation: all operations aimed at recovering materials and energy from waste and all operations of renewal and transformation, such as the extraction of metals and other inorganic materials and reuse or the creation of compost for agriculture or use as an energy source.
Used lubricating oils: all mineral and synthetic lubricating oils that become unfit for use after use to which they were intended as a new and lubricating oils that can be reused as raw material for regeneration.
Used oil filters: all equipment used to filter the lubricating oil of internal combustion engines that become unfit for use after use to which they were intended and can be recycled.
Regeneration: all operations for the treatment of used lubricating oils to obtain base oils reused.
Batteries: devices representing a source of electrical energy by direct conversion of chemical energy and consisting of one or more secondary batteries and represented mainly by batteries used in transportation.
Leachate: When stored and under the combined action of rainwater and natural fermentation, waste produces a liquid fraction called « leachate ». Rich in organic matter and trace elements, the leachate cannot be discharged directly into the natural environment and should be carefully collected and treated.
